I've been traveling a lot lately and discovered something rather funny about port-a-potties. When I was running the Crescent City Classic in New Orleans I discovered the locals there call port-a-potties "Pot o' Gold". Not only is this emblazened on the restrooms themselves, but there is a very nice mountain scene as well. My personal favorite would have to be the "Honey Pots" located in Spokane, Washington. Not much honey in these I'm guessing.

Racing has been going pretty well for me lately. I've recently finished 2nd at the US 25k Championships (~15.5 miles) in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Here is a link to watch the race via runnerspace.com Two weeks before the 25k I raced the famous Bloomsday 12k in Spokane, Washington. I was the top American in a tough field and finished 10th overall in 35:21. A week before I was 8th overall in the Crescent City Classic.

I have to give a big shout-out to my friend and training partner, Matt Gabrielson, as he is getting married this weekend.

My current schedule for racing this summer is US 8k Championships in Carmel, IN, Steamboat Classic, and Peachtree. I'm thinking about some other summer races but haven't nailed anything down past Peachtree yet. More to come on this.
